PlayerBot Commands
A quick reference for controlling bots in-game. No GM access needed.
Send these commands by whispering a bot directly, or in
party/raid chat to command every bot in the group at once.
Whisper any bot help at any time to see what it currently accepts.
Two Kinds of Bots
- Rndbots — auto-generated bots that roam, quest, and gear themselves on their own. You can invite and command them, but they act independently when left alone.
- Altbots — your own (or another player's) regular characters, handed over to bot control. They don't self-quest/gear the way Rndbots do — you drive most of their behavior with commands.
Getting Altbots Under Your Control
| Command | What it does |
|---|---|
.playerbots bot add name1,name2,name3 | Log in specific altbots by name |
.playerbots bot addaccount accountname | Log in every altbot on an account |
.playerbots bot remove name1,name2,name3 | Log out specific altbots |
.playerbots bot add * | Log in all altbots currently in your party/raid |
.playerbots bot remove * | Log out all altbots in your party/raid |
.playerbots bot addclass className | Summon a spare Rndbot of the given class (good for quickly testing a raid comp; use altbots instead for serious long-term play) |
Linking Another Account's Characters
Control another account's characters as altbots without logging into that account directly:
| Command | What it does |
|---|---|
.playerbots account setKey <yourKey> | Set a security key on your account |
.playerbots account link ACCOUNTNAME <theirKey> | Link to another account using its key |
.playerbots account linkedAccounts | List accounts currently linked to yours |
.playerbots account unlink ACCOUNTNAME | Remove a link (cancels access from both sides) |

Targeting Groups
Prefix a command with @ to target groups instead of one bot:

@group1,4or@group2-5,8
Combat Behavior (Strategies)
Strategies control how a bot fights or acts outside combat. Toggle them with
co (combat) or nc (non-combat), using + to add,
- to remove, ~ to toggle:
co +tank,-cc
nc +new rpg,+grind,-follow
- Check current strategies:
co ?ornc ? - Reset to defaults:
co !ornc !
Common Combat Strategies

Whisper the bot help to see what's available for its class.
Raid strategies auto-enable when a bot enters a supported instance (you'll get a whisper confirming it). Covers Molten Core, Blackwing Lair, AQ20, Karazhan, Gruul's Lair, Magtheridon, SSC, Vault of Archavon, Naxxramas, Obsidian Sanctum, Eye of Eternity, Ulduar, Onyxia, and Icecrown Citadel.

Tips
- Bots listen in whisper, party, and raid chat.
- Use
@groupprefixes to control many bots with one message. - If a bot is ignoring commands, whisper
helpto see its current accepted commands. - Raid strategies are automatic — don't manually set them unless you're overriding default behavior.
